As a lecturer, I lead or supervise workshops, seminars, master classes, and shape the vision of the different conservatories (curricula, teaching style, student management). At the Royal Conservatoire of Antwerp I am part of the working group “Diversity and Inclusion”, and I am in charge of shaping the Moodle-based learning environment (courses and portfolio’s) of the Jazz Vocal department. Following my residency at Codarts as a supervisor of artistic research for classical singers in 2010-2011 I also coach the jazz students in Antwerp in their artistic research.
What interests me a priori in the teaching field: Developments in the field of new learning, self-evaluation and peer review, formative assessment, flipped classroom, activating didactics and the developments in online learning (blended/hybrid), development of online course-modules and portfolio where necessary, crossover collaborations within the home institution, (international) collaborations with other institutions, project teaching and research.
Her student’s voice:
“The five years that I passed at the Antwerp Conservatory with Kristina Fuchs, were fantastic. The skill with which she touched and passed on the essence of music made it an extraordinary learning experience.
Her inexhaustible enthusiasm for sharing her knowledge and ability reflects on the people she works with. While she teaches, mastery seems always close, partly because she mainly focuses on constructive criticism and because she conveys the right information at the right time.
As a performer Kristina keeps inspiring with her musical versatility and her own desire for innovation and progress. She owns exceptional virtuosity and an advanced musical maturity.” (Eva Buchmann, MA 2008, now professor at the Folkwang University Essen, -> website )
